About Conway’s Game of Life

Conway’s Game of Life is a cellular automaton: a live cell survives with two or three live neighbors, and a dead cell is born with exactly three. Repeating those rules creates moving and repeating patterns.

Draw cells on the grid, load a pattern, or paste an RLE pattern. Play, pause, and step through generations; adjust the speed or try the ten-team Turf Wars variant.

The grid wraps at its edges, so patterns leaving one side return on the other. Turf Wars uses team-based rules rather than the standard Game of Life rules.
