Connections Maker is a free tool for making and sharing custom word-grouping puzzles. Write sixteen words in four hidden categories, then challenge friends to find the groups.
Choose Create, enter four category names and four words per category, and assign each group a difficulty color. Generate a share link when your puzzle is ready. Players select four related words at a time and have four mistakes to solve all the groups.
No account is required. Drafts are saved in this browser, and each share link contains the puzzle. Keep the link to play it again. This is an independent project, not affiliated with The New York Times.
